Slowing Down MIDI Playback
This tip is a part of the Power Tab Editor – Tips and Tricks section
If you would like to practice along to a power tab, but at a different speed, proceed like so:
- If a tempo marker already exists in the score, simply hold ctrl on your keyboard and click on the Tempo Marker button to edit it.
In this example, a tab in 4/4 would actually play as if it were at 60bpm, or half speed.
- If the beat is a quarter note, and you would like the tab to play at half speed, then change it to an 8th note . If you want it at quarter speed, then change it to a 16th note . The dotted note durations are used for other non 4/4 time signatures such as 6/8 or 12/8.
